Mason Basketball Fandom

While the Patriots may have their ups and downs over the course of the season, Patriots fans are always up and ready to come out and support their team. While every yellow-shirted person who comes out to the Patriot Center is a supporter, the true fans know what's what when it comes to cheering, heckling, and generally letting the boys on the floor know who's got their back.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to come out to every Patriot basketball game you can and do your utmost to defeat the other team, simply by yelling at them. To aid you, here are a few well known weapons of fandom that real fans already know:
  • Join the Patriot Platoon! A fan close to the floor is a happy fan.
  • Get there early! The doors open over an hour before the game starts and Platoon members get in early.
  • Wear a yellow or green wig, wear a yellow shirt, maybe a little facepaint to look the part.
  • When the opposing team comes out, hold high your newspaper (usually the Broadside) and feel free to boo them.
  • During a foul shot, put your hands up like superman and will the ball into the hoop.
  • Learn the cheers!
  • Learn the fight song!
  • Always give Gunston a high five for good luck.
  • Sing "Living On A Prayer" when instructed by Doc Nix and the Green Machine
  • Shake your keys at the losing visitors so they remember to start their bus.

That's just for starters. Feel free to add more.
