Re: Rape Woods
Nov 19 2007, 4:51 PM EST In general, the security on this campus isn't very good. Most people don't know about escort services, and most of the call boxes scattered infrequently around campus don't even work. I think something should be done about this...anyone agree? 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: Re: Rape Woods
Dec 8 2007, 2:25 PM EST Hey, Mon! I think most people do know about escort services. It's just that they don't want to take advantage of them (a stupid choice, but the commonness of stupid choices at GMU doesn't surprise me) lest the police who offer escort services suspect them of underage drinking (yet another stupid choice so commonly rampant at nights on campus--are you also sensing a pattern, Mon?). Also, too many students think they're too invincible for cops' piggybacking them to their respective residence halls. I personally would hitch a courtesy ride with escort services, but I almost never leave my dorm room at night on the weekends. I try to evade all the drunk people and read poetry books instead. Just saying. Do you find this valuable? |

RE: Re: Rape Woods
Dec 9 2007, 3:51 PM EST Well yeah, i agree that if you've been drinking you'd probably not be one to call an escort service. That being said, I'm pretty sure that when you call them, they don't "pay attention to it." Most programs of this kind do have those kinds of policies so people will actually use escort services without fear of repercussions. I don't know if this is the case, but it's a good idea in my view. Also...we're at college...people drink...that's just how it is. Really, compared to other schools in VA, we're pretty mild. You don't seem to think much of your fellow students. Do you find this valuable? |
